This has been a long month of travel to some new venues for me. I started off going to Charlotte for the NASCAR AllStar race and spent some time in the race shops in Concord and Mooresville. We broadcast live on KGKI Radio, www.kgkiradio.com, from the Stavola Brother shop with special guests Joey Britt from RCR and Tim Norris.
Tony Stewart won the race and it was a very exciting win to witness. Congrats to his team and organization for their first win and hope to see many more to come.
I had to travel to Las Vegas for 2 days to work a trade show. Coming back to Los Angeles on Wednesday night and then flying out to Indiana at 7am on Thursday was quite a task.
Spending Friday at Carb day and Indianapolis Speedway was very interesting. It was my first time to Indy and we had a police escort to the raceway. Traffic is unbelievable all over town and gets thicker the closer you get to the raceway.
I left Carb day early to go to a eco driving event called i drive green. Nelson Phillipe, driver of the #00 Indy car was suppose to be present. We drove 3 segments and learned how to improve our efficiency thoughout the afternoon. This was done using what is called a G Box and a G Cam made by G-tech, www.my-gtech.com.
First time out my score was 52 out of 100. I was deturmined to get a better score and learn as much as I could from these eco driving instructors. By the time I left the event my final score was 96 out of 100. Yes, I was very proud.
Nelson never showed up but I did get to drive a beautiful exotic street car called the Scorpion. It's retial price is $250k and it's feel is very much like a real race car. The owner, Ronn Maxwell, had brought the car up to Indy from Texas to be at the i drive green program and I was fortunite enough to meet him and test drive the car. www.ronnmotors.com. Maybe we can get Ronn to bring the car out to California and we can spend some more time in the car up at Willow Springs.
The Fantasy 500 party was a big hit thanks for a great staff who put on the event and all the sponsors. Congrats to everyone and thanks for having me. www.fantasy500party.com
I checked out the big 500 race on Sunday and hit the airport back to Los Angeles.
Congrats to MWR for the win at LMS yesterday. David you deserved it and your team does too. Very happy for you guys.
Now I am at home watching the Monoco race on my DVR.
